Portfolio Assignment
Purpose:
• To allow students to benchmark their development as leadership students
by tracking the progress they have made through the assignments they
have completed.
• To impress upon students the importance of leadership assignments by
requiring students to keep them for the duration of the program.

Procedure:
1. Keep your portfolio separate from class notes and handouts. Only
portfolio assignments are to be kept in the portfolio binder.
2. Prof. Stiles will let you know ahead of time which assignments will be
portfolio assignments.
3. On the day a portfolio assignment is due, you must hand in a hard-copy
and an electronic copy of the assignment in the left-hand pocket of the
binder.
4. Use a CD for the electronic copy: the CD should have all portfolio
assignments on it and should always be kept in the left-hand pocket.
5. All previous portfolio assignments must be included in the portfolio
every time it is handed in. Maintenance of the portfolio will be checked
each time a new portfolio assignment is due, and will count towards 5% of
your total course grade.
6. Portfolio binders will be organized as follows:
a. Content Sheet
b. Section 1: Reflection Papers
c. Section 2: Design Proposals
d. Section 3: Personal Assessments
e. Section 4: Papers
f. Section 5: Internship Journal (to be added Junior Year)
