Abstract:

Most institutions have well-developed candidate assessment systems but many are still trying to develop a culture of data-driven decision-making. This culture should encompass not only looking at individual candidates' performance over time but also analyzing aggregated data to determine program strengths and weaknesses and to improve programs. The latter is the primary goal of NCATE Standard Two. Integrating our candidate assessment system with the campus management information system saves time for the faculty and administration, cutting down the steps between individual candidate evaluation and program and unit aggregation and readily providing data for use in program improvement decisions.
