Abstract:
|
Believing that teacher education should be theoretically underpinned by a social reconstructionist multicultural education, three professors actively connect teacher candidates to community-based service opportunities aimed at civic engagement. Professors will discuss how course content (curriculum, assessment, and special needs) focuses on ameliorating negative perceptions of urban communities so that candidates might respond effectively to individuals from these communities. |
