Opening Windows of Opportunity: Orientation for Future Teachers

It is intended to serve two primary purposes: 1) introduction to the conceptual framework, and to provide guide observations specific to the learning outcomes and dispositions of the conceptual framework; 2) reflective practices that will help potential future teachers determine whether teacher education is the right career. The presentation is specific to the focus issue on preparing future teachers to be effective educators. As noted elsewhere, the introductory seminar guides future teachers through instruction and guided observations on the conceptual framework for professional education programs. The objective of the presentation is to provide information on the development, implementation, and structural components of the orientation course. Participants will leave the session with logistical information necessary to incorporate a similar initiative in their institutions. The presentation will be via PowerPoint. Handouts will be used to help describe the process. The presentation will be broken into three segments with each presenter conducting a segment.
