Senator Biden has already announced publicly that he intends to run for the
presidency in 2008 and has begun visiting key states and constituencies looking for support. Furthermore, the announcement by the Senate Majority Leader Frist, that he had a differing position on stem cell research than the president led many to speculate that this might have been a miscalculation in that it may alienate the conservative base if he were to run in 2008 and erode much of the monetary support that might have come his way.
