Following receipt of these instructions, each respondent was asked to make the same eight tolerance judgments with respect to this new class of suspect. These tolerance judgments were coded as Rejection of Terror Tactics = 1. Tolerance judgments rendered in contemplation of suspects directly responsible for the hypothetical terror threat received a coding of Rejection of Terror Tactics = 0. IV.
