Significantly, William Appleman Williams - the inspirer of American Cold War revisionism - had extensive
correspondence with Carr in 1952 sending him large amounts of his own research on the early years of the revolution and showing of course that the US was totally hostile to the USSR from the very start. The communications from Williams to Carr can be found in the Carr Papers in the University of Birmingham.
