This case is one of four in this study (with cases from Kenya, Israel, and the U.S.). The research is
underway in all four cases, but at different stages. While the Madagascar data is most advanced, it is still
provisional to greater survey data to be collected in 2005. As the study develops cross-national comparison
is intended to shine greater light on the interaction of the variables across the north-south gap.
