Appendix Two: Partial List of Interviews Conducted on Party Finance
Insights driving the in this paper were drawn from interviews conducted in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. Extensive conversations revealed the workings of the system of informal lobbying, by which contributions are exchanged for policy items. Interviewees were leading political figures, businessmen controlling large firms and leaders of lobbying organizations. Respondents never denied the existence of such activity and interviews focused on respondents experiences with lobbying activity, their broader knowledge of such activity and dynamics of firm relationships with political parties.
