Straightforward counting of legal and extralegal demands is one indicator of strong
strategy preferences, but examination of each case’s strategy choices over time provides a more
compelling depiction of Old Guard rigidity. Figures 3 and 4 present strategy chronologies of the
service demands made by each Old Guard case including Pro and Sector C (the clients), as well
as Rosales and Pisulli (the radicals).
