crescendo to help punctuate his emotional connection to the overall cause of his
Presidency in response to September
The measurement of rhythm has no
connection to the budgetary forecasts in Part Two yet is quantified only as a
unique and consistent characteristic within Bush s speeches The central design
of the experiment is to tally each reference to the three pledges as well as the
rhythm and to then graphically observe the volatility of the content within the
speeches It is important to reiterate that the research design posits the following
hypothesis Ho the probability that the pledges and rhythm are independent of the
audience of the speeches and that over time the content remains consistent and connected
to the mission
To reaffirm the purpose of the experiment is to accept or reject the
assumption that President Bush indeed has a stated mission and that regardless
of national circumstance the fundamental criteria within the mission is
consistent from day one during the events of September
and its aftermath as
well as the forthcoming State of the Union messages The testable data are
derived from the following speeches
Inauguration
United States Capitol January
Address to the Nation on the September
Attacks
The White House September
National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service
Washington D C September
Address to a Joint Session of Congress
United States Capitol September
Address to the Nation on the Bombing of Afghanistan
