Abstract:
|
In the Fall of 2001, the Administration of Justice Program at George Mason University created an undergraduate clinical seminar on the death penalty. Enrolling fifteen honors students, we exposed undergraduates to the workings of capital prosecutions by providing them the opportunity to work on real cases. One-third of the students assisted with the trial representation of a capital defendant, while the rest of the class analyzed a series of mishandled cases to understand how innocent individuals could be wrongly convicted of capital crimes. |
