How do we think about security? How should we think about security? What was one of the least contested concepts in political studies during the Cold War has become one of the most contested. This paper surveys contending ontological, epistemological, and normative perspectives on security referents and securitization, arguing against the possibility of a reified, or even a privileged, understanding of security. |
