relationship between Evere (NATO) and Cortenbergh (EU) is going to be there for many yearsthough will probably go through cycles. It follows that the shaping of the European Union's securityarchitecture and its chosen strategy may determine NATO's future role on the continent – the ‘inarea’ decisions and operations. In turn it follows that the shape of NATO's security architecture,such as the post-Prague organizations of Allied Command Transformation and Allied CommandOperations, may determine both the EU and NATO's future global role – the ‘out of area’ decisionsand operations.
