Drawing on a variety of datasets, I model several variables that affect this process. Specifically, I show that presidential ideology and minority representation in the U.S. House of Representatives influence the likelihood of minority nominations to the U.S. Courts of Appeals.

My paper provides an analysis of which factors increase the likelihood of a
minority being nominated for a seat on the U.S. Courts of Appeals. Drawing on a
variety of datasets, I model several variables that affect this process. Specifically,
I show that presidential ideology and minority representation in the U.S. House of
Representatives influence the likelihood of minority nominations to the U.S.
Courts of Appeals.
