Hispanic Women's Preferences for Breast Health Information: Subjective Cultural Influences on Source, Message, and Channel
Unformatted Document Text:  Breast Cancer Communication Preferences 22 In conclusion, this study demonstrated the importance of subjective cultural variables for predicting communication preferences for breast health information in Hispanic women aged 35 and older. The results have clear implications for communication campaigns targeting Hispanic women to increase breast cancer screening. Specifically, a “one-size fits all Hispanic” approach will not be as effective as creating multiple messages delivered through various sources and channels to women in their most preferred means. Hopefully, this more complex, nuanced approach will improved the delivery of breast health information so that breast cancer screening techniques are utilized more frequently in this population. Ultimately, that will result in earlier stage detection of breast cancer and thus increase the chances of survival.
