At least 1,338 daily newspapers are online in the United States (Newspaper
Association of America, 2001). Moreover, newspaper Web sites have attracted more
unique visitors than their news media counterparts of magazines, network television, and
radio (Newspaper Association of America, 2000).

The software presented practical limitations to the number of telephone numbers
that could be drawn. We arranged with the company to draw extra numbers for a fee.

The questions were:
Many newspapers, newsmagazines, television stations, and cable
television network stations have online news sites. How many days a
week, if any, do you read Web sites offered by one or more of these news
media outlets?
Internet service providers, such as America Online, Netscape, or
Microsoft Network also have news sites. How many days a week, if any,
do you read the news from any of these or other Internet service
providers?

By less than generally acceptable, we mean below .70.
