Since the information on the panel study was not collected using the same parameters and research questions of this content analysis, weak relationships could result of correlation of variables. Results show that there is a relationship between the public’s perception of important issues in the campaign and the report on news about those issues, although this relationship is not statistically significant under the 95-percent decision rule, there is still a 84 percent possibility that issues reported by the media affected issues considered by the public as important.
