Events of the foreign policy. In the content analysis, 96.8 percent of the total number of presidential public relations activities devoted to the foreign policy issue, as documented in the Public Papers of the Presidents, were collapsed into 51 specific event categories, and the 10 events garnering the most coverage were examined. Events surrounding President Bushs’ foreign policy public relations activities accounted for 9.15% of the total foreign policy public relations efforts, with President Clintons’ accounting for 9.68%. No other event categories accounted for more than 5% of coverage. Trade talks
