Unformatted Document Text:  Violent Music 25 intense driving anger, state anger, or negative-valence thoughts and should be avoided whenever possible. For example, radio stations should avoid programming songs that contain messages advocating violence during peak travel times. Conclusion Driving anger is a problem receiving moderate scholarly attention (e.g., Mizell, 1997; Tasca, 2001) with a plethora of the literature focusing on demographics of individuals likely to aggress while driving (e.g., Arnett, 1994; Deffenbacher, et al., 2000). Quick (2002) argues that music pervades drivers more than any other media while driving; hence, attention examining the effects of music on driving anger must further be explored. As communication researchers, we must continue to explore driving anger influences as well as design campaigns promoting driving safety. For it is through theoretically grounded applied research that we can discover a deeper understanding of driving anger and apply our findings to reduce anger-related driving incidents.
