The points in # 1 thesis sound like they are more persuasive. I say combine the two amplificaions from both thesis statements. For instance, in your last point of amplification in T #1, you say you will talk about "what determine one's intelligence." You could put all three points of amplification from your SECOND thesis statement beneath this point. Also, in thesis #1 you say you will talk about the def of an IQ ... this could be combined with amp. #2 in T #1.

Three concepts that everyone should know about IQ and
genetics are 1)the definition of IQ, 2)the different
types of intelligences, and 3)what determines one's
inteligence.

My original thesis was: What everyone should know is
that a person builds his/her own intelligence through
three main sources which are: 1)the experiences and
interactions they have with the "world", 2)their parents
influence and 3)the amount of work that they apply to
learning.

I think you can use the information behind both thesis
statements for either "speech" you suggest. Actually, I
don;t really like either one. In neither are you
offering a strong posiion. You want to convince us,
right? Persuade us? You need to say what you think, that
IQ is not genetic, and be straight up about what you are
defending. The points in # 1 thesis sound like they are
more persuasive. I say combine the two amplificaions
from both thesis statements. For instance, in your last
point of amplification in T #1, you say you will talk
about "what determine one's intelligence." You could put
all three points of amplification from your SECOND
thesis statement beneath this point. Also, in thesis #1
you say you will talk about the def of an IQ ... this
could be combined with amp. #2 in T #1.
