Unformatted Document Text:  SINGLE FATHERS 10 him to these circumstances. Regarding current relational status, two of the fathers reported that they were not involved in a romantic relationship, one reported cohabiting with a current partner, one reported being involved in a serious romantic relationship, and one reported being involved in a casual relationship. The majority of single-fathers (N = 3) reported receiving childcare assistance from another, whereas two single-fathers reported that they received no outside help. For the three single-fathers who did receive assistance, two of the single-fathers received help from one outside person and one father received assistance from both his mother and a sibling. Single-fathers were asked what was the longest span of interrupted time they have ever spent with their child. Four of the 5 fathers reported that they are with their children “all of the time”. One single-father reported that five days was the most uninterrupted time he had ever spent with this child. In terms of overall hours per week spent in activities with their child, single-fathers reported spending an average of 33.2 hours per week in direct contact with their child (range = 10-56 hours). Single-fathers were then asked a series of questions that tapped into the type of activities they engaged in with their child each week and for how many hours. See Table 1 below for specifics. ________________ Insert Table 1 Here ________________ Single-fathers who had reported that they received outside childcare assistance were also asked how many hours per week they received assistance for various activities. See Table 2 below for a reporting of what activities the fathers received outside assistance on and for how many hours. ________________ Insert Table 2 Here
