Dear Fellow Spelmanite: As students of Spelman College, we feel that students should be empowered to express their views. We want to hear what you have to say. As a class project for our Political Science Data and Research Methods course, we have composed this survey and mailed it to a randomly selected group. The goal of this survey is to get a better understanding of student attitudes and behaviors regarding issues of academic honesty. Participation is voluntary and individual responses will be kept confidential. Won’t you take a few minutes to fill out this survey? While you will receive no direct benefit for participation, the results will be presented to the Dean’s office. Thus, the survey provides students with a voice before the College Dean while protecting each individual’s privacy. The Dean Team will be more likely to pay attention to our views if the response rate is high. As an added incentive, all participants will also be entered in a random drawing to win one of twenty 120 minute long distance cards. In order to participate, please fill out the enclosed survey form, and return it via campus mail in the provided envelope. We hope that you will see fit to respond to all of the questions, but you may skip any questions that you are uncomfortable answering. In order to protect your anonymity, please do not put your name on the survey or its return envelope, and please mail the “response postcard” separately from the survey itself. In order to be eligible for the drawing, you will need to mail your response by November 1, 2003. Thank you in advance for your participation. The students of PSC203 P.S. If you have any questions regarding your rights as a participant in this study, you may call the professor for our course, Dr. Moshe Haspel, at 404-270-5654 or e-mail him at ## email not listed ##.
