Abstract:

This paper discusses language ideologies in discourses (re)constructed by Norway-based Polish and German families. Drawing on Language Portraits and semi-structured interviews, it examines how families relate to languages in their lives and which language ideologies they invoke when explaining language choices in the context of their linguistic biographies.
