Candid Camera: Self-Reflection and Constructive Feedback

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Teacher candidates often struggle with identifying teaching standards in action and reflecting on their own teaching. University supervisors many times do not give specific feedback to candidates on their teaching. This paper discusses how the use of time-stamped video tagging and collaborative reflection enhances the candidate’s ability to identify standards-based teaching. In addition, it discusses how using time-stamped video tagging allows University supervisors and faculty to give specific feedback tagged to candidate teaching. Discussion on video capture equipment, software platforms and examples of specific uses are highlighted.
