Abstract:

In this session, the authors will talk about their findings regarding how teacher education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) trains students on classroom management techniques and if conversations about race exist in these courses. The authors will also reflect on the findings, analyze the implications to the School-to-Prison Pipeline, and provide recommendations for teachers regarding race relations in the classroom.
