Abstract:

The purpose of this presentation is to describe the history of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Family Literacy Project as well as provide discussion around two assessments of the project’s effectiveness in addressing the challenges often associated with community—school—university partnerships based within educator preparation programs: barriers to community partnerships and teacher candidate feelings of uncertainty when interacting with family members.
