Method of Data Analysis
Path Analysis was used to test a hypothetical model developed for investigation.
The model appears in Figure 1.
Results
As shown in Figure 1, comparison of pre- and post-test scores on the AODQ
disclosed significant gains in Knowledge (pretest mean = 11.19, posttest mean = 15.00, difference t = -3.81. p < .001, .effect size = .54, p < .05). Path analysis revealed that increases in Knowledge were statistically significantly accompanied by increases in Practice (effect size = .47, p < .05).
The results were interpreted as indicative of the effectiveness of the Arts of
Democracy Course in improving Knowledge and Practice related to democratic principles.
