Abstract:

Citing first-hand accounts of the war experiences of African women ex-combatants and current psychological research on the effects of military combat, I challenge Fanon’s androcentric claims about revolutionary violence and deconstruct dichotomies like war vs. peace and women as peacemakers vs. men as war-makers.
