Abstract:

This conference demonostration will include an excerpt--a work in progress "performing black teen--livin' in between" this performance piece will grow out of a course I'm teaching in Spring of 2007---Gendered Movement and Embodied Research. I'd like to share my personal struggles as artist/scholar as I worked to develop a dance/movement course in Gender Studies while working on my own creative piece. I woiuld also like to have a brief discussion on how we can infuse performance arts in Gender studies.
