Abstract:
|
This paper is a continuation of previous work attempting to carve out a place in our discipline for approaching criminal justice as an essential object of theorizing, alongside crime. Four general areas are examined: 1) the role of research in CJ theory, including positivist, interpretive, and critical epistemologies; 2) further development of the notion of the theoretical lens or orientation; 3) clarification of the boundaries of criminal justice as an object of study; and, 4) detailing the role criminal justice theory should play in quality pedagogy. |
