Abstract:

In an era when quality matters, our commitment to all learners starts with a need for educators to start thinking much more consciously about classroom routines they've accepted as desirable or necessary without scrutinzing them, simply because they constitute "what teachers do".Given that assumptions produce behaviors and behaviors have consequences, educators need to make informed choices for themselves. This study offered doctoral students an opportunity to identify their own assumptions, to explore alternatives, and to make conscious choices about their own practice.
