Abstract:

The research project is a case study of how a Chinese language teacher utilizes computer-mediated communication (CMC) and its subsequent effect on language learning. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between a Chinese teachers pedagogical beliefs and the way she utilizes CMC.

Computer-mediated Communication in Chinese Language Instruction Chinhsi Lin Abstract Researchers of second language learning have often suggested that using computer- mediated communication (CMC) would have positive impacts on student learning. CMC also changes teacher’s pedagogical beliefs in previous studies. Nevertheless research that has empirically documented advantages and limitations of using CMC in Chinese language learning and changes of teachers’ pedagogies are scant. Therefore this research proposal aims to explore outcomes of using CMC in Chinese language learning. The research
