Abstract:

The perspective of this paper is from an African American female assistant professor on a predominantly white campus teaching diversity and inequality in American politics. This paper is a reflection of my experiences teaching various courses that address difference and diversity in the American political landscape. Strategies and recommendations for creating a more inclusive learning environment are also discussed and shared.
