Data Management and Analysis

Inevitably, the most challenging aspect of research methods, for instructors and
students are tasks related to data management and analysis. Each group is responsible for
converting their completed questionnaires to a workable dataset from which they will
perform analysis. I facilitate a data management workshop and provide a worksheet
(Appendix, Form B) to direct students through the coding process. Once they have built
their datasheets – in Excel format – I offer services toward converting data to SPSS
format. Data files, with variable and value labels inserted, are returned to each group for
analysis.
