Abstract:

This presentation focuses upon extending critical analysis outside of the classroom. This discuss is based on an award winning pedagogical approach that links classroom activities and critical scholarship. Dr. Hernández-Arias has taught a series of courses that are linked to an ongoing research project, the Community Health Assets and Needs Assessment. The project is modeled as social-dominants of health and implemented as a community-based participatory research project.
