Abstract:

The purpose of this poster session is to use data from ongoing case studies of six Nevada middle schools involved in the state’s GEAR UP program to explore the connections and disconnections among interpretations of academic success. Our intent is to develop a more articulated and connected concept of academic success that supports “an equal shot” for underrepresented and first-generation college attendees.
