Reasearch in Political Science: a critical point of view

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

This paper discusses the positivist origin of the Political Science discipline, taking into account how it works from the separation of (Political) Philosophy and (Political) Science. It also divides Politics from Economics. These divisions tend to narrow the research options of our discipline, thus provoking a lower capacity of explanation of reality. To strenghten the disciplin´s power of explanation, this paper proposes to end with the division between Philosophy and Science and to incorporate the Critical Theory of Frankfurt School.
