Abstract:

The majority of studies of decision-making about breast reconstruction postmastectomy are based on hetero-normative assumptions about body image and sexuality. This paper presents the results of a qualitative investigation of both surgery decision-making, medical setting experiences, and emotional support needs among 13 lesbian or bisexual breast cancer survivors.
