Publication Type: Conference Paper/Unpublished Manuscript Review Method: Peer Reviewed Abstract: FEMSA Retail has presented an exponential growth in its retail business via different format stores: convenient retail chain OXXO, a mini market chain BARA, and two-liquor store chains MATADOR and SIX. With a complex growth, the operation Management demanded more coordination and integration. The Executive Committee initiated a search to find a technological platform for the retail sector with all the functionalities required. After the technology assessment, the implementation team leaded by Ruben Treviño implemented RETEK. During the pilot they suffered many setbacks. Ruben Treviño had the challenge to present the business benefits after the information technology solution was implemented.
