Abstract:

This session will examine/demonstrate innovative ways to using students’ favorite Anime songs and JPop to reinforce literacy in Japanese, including speaking (pronunciation, fluency) and listening (sound discrimination); reading and writing hiragana, katakana, and kanji. The songs can serve as assessment tools and present ways to learn about Japanese culture/literatures.
