Abstract:

The presentation showcases a US-China language/culture exchange program that supplements a college-level advanced theme-based Chinese language course through a social-networking website. Learners on both sides are exposed to the target cultures as well as the target languages through user-generated materials. Juxtaposition of two languages and cultures also fosters meaningful communication.
