The Civil Society Dialogue that makes Turkey better known in all around the world and stimulate closer cooperation and integration among countries. Uludağ University in Bursa, Turkey has been coordinating a scientific and educational European Union Project entitled “Network for Intercultural Dialogue and Education: Turkey – Bulgaria” with the partners Sofia University”St. Kl. Ohridski” (Bulgaria), Muğla University (Turkey), and Kocaeli University (Turkey). The duration of the project is 18 months. This paper reports on the general and specific objectives, main activities, action plan, the development of “university code of intercultural behavior”, the handbooks prepared for the lecturers and students, the surveys that were carried out on the students, the implementation of the methods and strategies into syllabuses and programs within the following study areas: Pedagogy, History, Philosophy, Linguistics, Social Studies; multiplier effects, sustainability, end beneficiaries, and also the expected results in the scope of the project. There are some notions that are emphasized throughout the actions and programs in order to raise the consciousness in the society: unity, cooperation, universal, education, participation, freedom, open-minded, respect, culture, future, creativity, encouragement, intercultural, rights, human rights, tolerance, democracy, tolerance, justice, equality, consciousness, dialogue, intercultural dialogue, society, civil society, meeting, European Union, and integration. The goals are promising and will have a vital role in stimulating people for the sustainability of the collaboration and interaction through intercultural dialogue. The project encompasses both overall and specific objectives in order to achieve the University’s goals. The overall objectives are: • to strengthen contacts and mutual exchange of experience between civil societies in Turkey and Bulgaria; • to ensure better knowledge and understanding of Turkey within the European Union, including Turkish history and especially culture; • to develop appropriate innovative educational technologies for intercultural dialogue between students and teachers from universities in both countries; • to promote the European idea in Turkey; • to facilitate the social dialogue between lecturers with different nationality (Turkish and Bulgarian), who educate students by the method of intercultural dialogue and education; • to introduce innovative, social and cultural communication technologies at the stage of university education.
