Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Using participant observation from 2002-2007, I attended memorialization events of the Sand Creek Massacre at the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site and other related sites. My paper examines the unique contribution that performance and practice make both to the development of monuments in the realm of praxis and to the theoretical development of collective memory and its relationship to national identity.
