The Public’s Versus CNN’s Agenda: Agenda Setting and the CNN-YouTube Presidential Candidate Debates

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

The CNN-YouTube Presidential Candidate Debates provided a unique opportunity for the American public to become involved in a national political discussion. Content analysis was used to ascertain if the videos selected for broadcast by CNN’s selection committee differed from the population of online video submissions. The study found limited significant differences between the videos selected for broadcast and the online video population, supporting the argument that agenda setting was not evident during the CNN-YouTube Debates.
