Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

This paper presents key results from our Campbell Collaboration review of the effectiveness of anti-bullying programs in schools. Over 40 programs met our criteria for inclusion. In general, anti-bullying programs are effective in reducing bullying and victimization. This paper focuses on which elements of programs are most strongly correlated with effectiveness. The most important elements include parent training, improved playground supervision, firm disciplinary methods, school conferences, videos, and work with peers. Based on our results, new anti-bullying programs should be developed and tested, with the aim of introducing a system of accredited programs.
