Abstract:

This paper is divided into three sections. First, we examine what we know about coaching as a leadership development strategy. Second, we contrast leadership coaching in schools and businesses and discuss the tasks that are unique to principal leadership and set leading schools apart from leadership in other settings. Third, we present the coaching model that is being implemented in this study that uses specific feedback data to inform and develop principals’ practices.
