Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

With the aim of promoting shared leadership for improved algebra teaching and learning, participating principals are provided with 30 hours of content-rich professional development through a study group format. Drawing on study group fieldnotes, transcripts and follow-up interviews, this analysis explores connections between algebra teaching, learning and leadership. Findings suggest that improved leadership content knowledge enables principals to better assess algebra instruction, as well as support and develop algebra teachers.
