Abstract:

The need for 21st century knowledge and skills is a national priority. Yet, bringing the 21st skills to school is a slow and cumbersome process. Leadership, professional development and school university networks facilitate change. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationships among school leadership, professional development, and university-school in schools as they implement content-specific teaching reforms. The findings indicate that leadership is critical to teacher reform initiatives.
