Abstract:

This is an analysis of domestic violence in Santa Ana, California from the perspective of law enforcement, the courts, and legal aid from 2003 to 2008. Data from these agencies are mapped along with census data and liquor license locations to investigate patterns spatially and over time. This is part of an ongoing research project on domestic violence from multiple institutional perspectives. It has its origins in an earlier project involving multiple agency data sharing and the evaluation of the utility of GIS analysis for legal aid organizations. It has grown to include law enforcement, the courts and legal aid.
